Iceberg Names Men's Creative Director

"It's important to understand when to do a step back, especially in this current hard and complex time," said Gilmar chief executive officer and artistic director Paolo Gerani, who used to oversee Iceberg men's and women's collections. "So I decided to delegate to someone I've known since a long time in order to get a new and better image for the brand," said Gerani, referring to the appointment of Curradi as Iceberg fashion and creative consultant in 2006.

Gerani also said that the company would appoint a creative director for the women's line as well.

"I'll be still involve in the style decisions but I'll concentrate more on finding new emerging talents," he added.

Born and raised in Florence, Curradi cut his teeth working with a tailor prior to launch his own line of men's pants. He went on to work for Ermanno Scervino, where he designed the brand's first men's collection, and Roberto Cavalli as head of the men's collection in 2005.

"My goal is to find a style very focused on men's wear and which expresses creativity in knitwear, Iceberg's core business," Curradi said.
