What was first pitched as a free concert by rock idol Kelly Clarkson has turned into a chance for 100 lucky (and early-arriving) attendees to meet the superstar.
Microsoft — which is hosting Clarkson at The Fashion Mall at Keystone as part of its retail store’s grand opening Saturday — has revealed details surrounding the event.
Here’s the scoop.
• 10 p.m. Friday: Concertgoers can start lining up for a chance to meet Clarkson and attend her exclusive performance on Saturday. People should line up outside the north entrance of the Fashion Cafe, near Raleigh Limited. You can camp overnight, but no sleeping bags or tents are allowed.
• 10:30 a.m. Saturday: The grand opening ceremonies for the Microsoft store begin.
• 11 a.m. Saturday: Microsoft store opens and free tickets for the Clarkson performance will be distributed. The first 100 people will receive two free premier viewing tickets for the Clarkson concert that night. One of those tickets allows access to both the concert and the meet-and-greet with Clark after the show. The second ticket grants permission to the concert only. The next 1,000 people in line, at minimum, will receive two premier viewing tickets.
• 3 p.m.: Concertgoers can start lining up to get into the performance area near Fashion Mall at Keystone in the northwest parking lot near Nordstrom. No personal items are allowed in the concert area. No purses, backpacks, bags, coolers, or professional cameras. You may have a cell phone, ID and money.
• 5 p.m. Gates to the performance space opens.
• 7 p.m. Clarkson performs. The concert is expected to last a little more than an hour.
• After the concert, those with tickets to the meet-and-greet should go to the Microsoft store to chat with Clarkson. A professional photographer will be there to take pictures.
